FREE Akoma after sales setup and support. Hound Heater Dog House Furnace. The Heater features a spring made of heavy duty stainless steel that is surrounded by a 7 foot of cord. This spring protects the cord from the most stubborn of chewers.
Keep pets warm and cozy during inclement weather with the Akoma Hound Heater. This lightweight, portable furnace weighs just six pounds but can heat dog houses of up to 32 cubic feet. Designed with 16-gauge steel that is powder coated, the heater is made to last. A protective spring covers the cord to prevent dogs from chewing and eliminates the threat of electrical shock. At 10-by-10 inches, this compact heater allows pets plenty of room to relax.
Warm not hot. Works great so far. I have it in a ASL Solutions Insulated Medium Large Dog House Palace Raised Floor Bed. Mounted to 1/2 " plywood. Had to set to low setting, as med setting was way to hot ! You can't go wrong with this unit. Make sure the dog house is insulated, or you will be paying to heat the outdoors!
Very disappointed with the product, barely warmer than a light bulb, I followed the installation instructions.
Set the thermostat and waited, and waited and although it warmed up on a chilly evening the overall temperature in the insulated kennel was 11c!
The name of the product is wrong, I think it is misleading to call it a furnace given the heat this thing puts out!
It's well constructed but just does not do the job, I wouldn't recommend this item to anyone.
I've had 1 for a couple of months now and so fare so good, bought a second need a third. Takes time for my dogs to get used to them. When new they emit a paint smell. Would recommend to turn them on and prerun them in the open before installing them in the doghouse.
Moved my dogs from So. Cal. Warm climate. To the Sierras and snow. Built them a well insulated dog house. With a 12 volt battery and converter. I have the heater on the lowest possible setting. It stays around 60 F. Installed a small floor heater mat also. When both are on the draw is only 240 watts max. They will run for about 9 hours on the battery on a cold night.
Not a cheap build. My best friends are happy and cozy. Best of all. They are outside along with their muddy mess not in the house when cold outside,. I think the wife is the happiest of all.
Great for small dog houses... Decent for larger ones.
The heater would do great in smaller Dog houses but my dog houses 4' x 6' feet and it can't quite keep up on the very cold days. I still recommend it though!
