The device works perfectly at leveling for tabletop photography. A temporary infirmity has prevented my usage for landscape as yet, but I anticipate no problem except it's weight It did not come with the Manfrotto base to attach to the camera, which I did not want. Instead it I modified it with an Arca-Swissquick release mount from Hajnar Photo, who makes mods for Manfrotto to Arca-Swiss. Also the rubber kcovers nob are old as I would expect from a used device, but work perfectly.

I have used Manfrotto in the past, and know they are a reliable quality. The 405 head is super to use for anyone in photography and handles cameras in weight of 10-15 lbs. It has 3 axis knobs that each are a twist and adjust the camera til it is in the center bubble, then there is a fine tuner right in line with the 3 axis points. I highly recommend this product and don't let the price affect whether or not you get. :) you would not regret it once you got it and start using it.

It's an excellent gear tripod head for it's price. I've used it for many years in museum photography work in studio and location work. If you can afford the best, then by all means do so but if you're looking for value, the Manfrotto would be my choice.
