APC BR1500G is highly recommended. Produces about 900W of electricity, has 1500VA of power. Was uncertain if it could handle APFC power supplies (the new ones) without shutting down, but after testing the unit by disconnecting the plug, worked no problem. Also concerned that the unit would not handle my PC and associated hardware, but after everything was hooked up, my setup only pulled less than 300W, and the unit could power that long enough to shut everything down safely. Added plus, replacement batteries are about $20 each (uses 2), so when the batteries die (suggested life is 3 years) I don't have to purchase this again -- just replace. Bad part is that it comes with a proprietary USB cable (one end looks normal USB, other end looks like RJ45, but is expanded), not sure why they did that... why not just a standard USB cable? The powerchute software (APC brand power management software) seems to work fine and has plenty of options to please all. Recommended! Read full review

This unit works great. Have constant short power outages that drive me crazy. Have many of these and have to spread the load to prevent overloading with bug tv, satellite, computers etc.... Heavies loaded unit is 60% and works well. Longer outages it just shuts down when battery is done. Does have plug for external battery(s). Surge arresstor in this unit saved my tv twice. I have multiple levels of arrestors and still need this right at the TV/computers to prevent surge damage. Unit runs quiet, but beeps until acknowleged.
I have two of these that i've bought as reconditioned units with new batteries. This UPS is a small commercial version so it's built really well and are a great value used/reconditioned. I power my entire entertainment center system using one and it's great not to have to reset the equipment every time there is a power outage. Love it.

I purchased this unit as a replacement for a Cyberpower CP1500VRT that started to fail to support output during power failures. This unit appears to be a higher quality UPS although it is also made in China. One of the factors influencing purchase of this model is the ability to add additional batteries which adds about another 2/3 time to support the output. APC advises users to replace the batteries every 3 years. Only issue was the seller did not include the specially made communications cable however, they are readily available on ebay for around $10. The batteries in Cyberpower were replaced for $35,50 and now it work like new. The batteries for Cyberpower lasted over 4 years.

I bought this to keep my cable modem, apple extreme wireless router and Synology NAS running through power outages. It was easy to setup and has been running flawlessly for a month now. I haven't had any outage yet but the estimate runtime for this load is about three hours. We'll see nest storm season
