I bought Lightroom 3 because the Yosemite OS system on my Mac is considered old and and won't support a newer more advanced version of Lightroom. My old PC (system 8) however is compatible with Nikon NX Studio which is a free and a more capable program than Lightroom 3. So for simple editing I'll use Lightroom 3 on my Mac and for more involved editing I'll use Nikon NX Studio on my PC.
