I have installed and taken a few classes that explain how to use this program. It is very useful in many ways. I can open a photo from my files and change the photo to make it better. I can use the elements to make it sharper or lighter or better contrast. There is so much more I can do with Photoshop that I have not even explored yet. I was astonished with the focus available on Adobe when tweeking shots to enter on ebay. In fact, it is no good. Use the focus option and the shot becomes a mass of tiny dots representing what once was a slightly out of focus shot. I have tried shooting the item from close in, the digital camera I just purchased (another Olympus which I bought because I loved the accuracy of the previous one) could not be clearly focused; tried shooting the item from a distance far enough away from the item that the picture is in focus in the camera but then could not get it into focus using the Adobe program to trim the picture, Use the focus option in adobe and voila! an unuseable picture of tiny dots. It's back to floppy discs for close up pictures for me. I also could not transfer the edited pictures into my picture file where I get the pictures for ebay. I wish I had more experience with the Photoshop Elements 7, but have not had the time lately. I have used the original Adobe Photoshop Elements before they added Newer software. Have not changed this software in years, and it is still my favorite. I just thought it was time to update to a newer version. From the time I have spent with the Elements 7, it seems as good as and I hope improved from the oldy goldy, though I have not found anything wrong with the old one.
I've used an earlier version for more than ten yrs to do all of my amateur photo-editing. It has many more features than i can use, or have any use for...a great program.
