This does an excellent job of removing the kernels from the popcorn bowl as long as you toss/shake the popcorn vigorously. You can always remove the cup later and get the half-popped kernels if you want to (I do), but you won't typically find them in the main section. The holes are perfectly sized, ensuring that the kernels are removed with a minimum of popcorn loss. My only complaint is that the screw-on "lid" on the bottom would have been more convenient if it had just snapped on. It's a little cumbersome to unscrew the bottom when it's full of stuff.
