I have not used it long enough to be able to say if it works 3x longer than the standard manufacturer's blades, but I can tell you a number of things about its performance. I have been using vinyl cutters for many years and have a Silhouette SD and a Portrait. I only cut small stencils with vehicle VIN numbers in a stencil font for an etching kit my company sells. The Silhouette blades have worked okay. I discovered that little pieces of stencil that come loose work their way inside the blade housing. This prevents the blade from turning properly and the small letters and numbers begin to get torn up. The end white piece unscrews so it is possible to clean them out. The last two Silhouette blades I bought have been nothing but trouble. They were not cutting all the way through all the characters and when the blade was extended, they ripped up the vinyl. It was as if I got shipped used blades. This Premium blade also opens up to clean out the small pieces, but it does not seem to accumulate nearly as many as the standard blades. The standard blade clicks from position (number) to number, so it is not possible to set it in-between. The Premium blade allows one to set it in-between the numbers. This is important if you use different types and thicknesses of vinyl like I do. In order to do our VIN etching kits at a low price, we use scrap vinyl from our sign making business. We use large commercial cutters for that. In fact, thousands of dollars in cost difference, the large cutters just are not made with cutting out small stencil characters and the Silhouette cutters do a better job. You have to use the ratchet blade settings in your cut panel because this blade doesn’t self-adjust, but it cuts well and lasts much longer than the auto blade. At the price I paid on eBay, a real bargain!
