Bargain Desktop DMM
I was looking for a desktop digital multimeter. Sometimes you need a meter with higher resolution than a handheld meter and with a display that does not time out after a few minutes to conserve the battery. Even the used Agilent 34401A and the Fluke 8845A meters were substantially more expensive. This G W Instek is very similar to the Agilent and Fluke meters at about 20% of the price of a used model from one of the big manufacturers. The display is bright, and the operation is pretty intuitive. On a known voltage standard, the Instek meter on DC voltage is very, very close to an Agilent meter I have that is still within the factory calibration period. This is a very good value.
