  • Robust but easily Upgraded

Everything functions as expected aside from the battery life. While a power charging cable is supplied & the laptop can be used smoothly and continuously while plugged in, running solely on battery power only lasted me around 40 minutes. The battery appears to be original & is roughly 10 years old (stamped June of 2011) but it is easily replaceable and cheap. I found an extended range compatible battery for this style of HP ProBook online for less than $20 USD which yields between 4-5 hours of life. It has a slight bulge which sticks out past the laptop's original dimensions, but original sized battery replacements exist plentifully online if you want to keep it original. This notebook is heavy compared to what I normally use (a MacBook Air), and feels like it's roughly the weight of a dictionary. Finding a computer protection cover that can fit this notebook is difficult because of the now uncommonly large dimensions, but the exterior shell seems more durable and rigid than its contemporary equivalents. Overall, this is a solid laptop choice if you're hunting for a dedicated computer to run Windows 7 Pro for side projects. This has many amenities/ports that newer notebooks no longer include, and it's very good for this price point.

  • ubuntu runs on a usb stick on this unit just fine, pull the stick, its all secure.

wanted something for a jobsite computer, that wouldnt be such a prizze to theifs. this handles that admirably, while retaining the ability to work with ubuntu as a stand alone in the usb , unit. it does have windows 7 and most of the bells and whistles that crusty oldie provi9ded with all its glory, but running ubuntu its got some legs to reach out and utilize design features, handle data , and write ... and it has wifi for entertainment.

  • Need a Win 7 laptop look here

If you need a win 7 laptop for older applications, this device can serve you well. It was in good condition, and I preferred an external mouse. It was slow but steady and reliable. And I am totally happy with the purchase.

  • Eons better

My first computer was in 1980, and weighed at 40 pounds. This a light weight. The disk size then was 8 inches and held a total of ten megabytes.

  • Great School or Work Laptop For the Price

Bought a few of these laptops for my IT lab project and absolutely love these little gems. I installed windows 10 and Office so our whole family have a backup plan for work and school. Highly recommended. Will probably buy more for family members, friends, and others who can't afford a school or work PC. Thanks....

  • It’s exactly what I expected as a laptop ready for the recycler but still running. Just need it to run one piece of software and remain disconnected

Came quick. Packaged well enough. Runs as expected for what it is. It won’t be put on the web with Microsoft no longer supporting it but I only need it for one piece of software that doesn’t need the internet. Seller was responsive to information requests and honest on expected delivery constraints.
