Although it is made of stamped, not forged steel, it is a pretty nice ladle. It does exactly what it's supposed to do. I have seen fancier ladles, but for under ten dollars, this one does the job. It holds enough lead for two .454 round balls. I used it recently to mold a few dozen balls, and it worked fine. It's lightweight and easy to hold and pour with. For the price, it's a very nice ladle.

Expected something with volume. This isn't it, but it would cost as much to send it back. Inadequate description, my folly.

I ordered this so I could make my own bullets for my muzzle loader. Looking at the picture you would think it is bigger then what it is. That being said the handle is constructed of a decent wood and the attachment to the ladle is solid. Anytime you are working with melted lead you should wear gloves and this ladle is no exception. It will get warm!!! I have to say when I first got it I thought, "this is not going to work" boy was I wrong. It is the perfect size for any pot down to a quart or even smaller. I love it. Slag comes off easy with it. Yes you could use a ladle or anything else but you will have problems. This is at such a low price it makes it worth owning. I highly recommend it.

I'm just a small time reloader I use lee lever and the lil survival kit for 9 mm I use the ladle to catch the lead out of a bullet that I had messed up on and can't reset it so I recycle and mold a new lead bullet from the old one. Yes it works great
