As she knew and clearly stated, Tina Turner is "Simply the Best", and she is at the top of her abilities on this CD. I've not been a great fan of her's but this disc will change my opinion if I give it a little time and exposure.

This CD is perfection. There are so many classic Tina Turner hits on this it's ridiculous. Every song is a hit. From her slow soulful songs like "I Want You Near Me", to the pioneering rock 'n' roll we love her for, exemplified in songs such as "Typical Male" and "Love Thing". There was one thing that bothered me though. Many years ago, I purchased this same CD in Europe and it had many of the same songs. However, the older CD included the classic "River Deep, Mountain High", as well as a personal favorite of mine, Tina's cover of Robert Palmer's "Addicted to Love". The CD I purchased on eBay seems to be a newer edition, and the previously mentioned songs have been replaced by "What You Get Is What You See" and "Look Me in the Heart". I was a little bummed out by that, but these newer songs are still very pleasant to listen to, so I can't take any stars away for that. Ok. Long review over. I bought this compact disc because I like Tina Turner as a singer and as a person. She is a fantastic singer and truly a great person as well. She is also a real survivor. This CD has almost all of her greatest songs on it. Tina Turner has an incredible voice and certainly knows how to use it. This greatest hits compiliation is mostly emotional rock and rhythm & blues songs from the 1970's and 1980's. "What's Love Got to Do With It" is especially powerful and it is easy to see why this song made #1 in September, 1984. All in all, considering the amount of hits on this CD, it is truly an excellent value for the money. Lots of good stuff here!
