I wish every American would read this book. It explains why we are in the economic and political mess we're in, and why we are made to endure unnecessary boom and bust cycles. Our lives and our futures are in the hands of a few conscience-free oligarchs who believe that might makes right. The Federal Reserve is the current (last hundred years) iteration of the mega-maniacal monsters throughout history who want to rule the world. As disturbing as the content is, it was a joy to read because the author presents the massive amount of information in such a highly readable way. It is actually a real page-turner, which was a sweet surprise from a book treating this type of subject. I cannot recommend this book highly enough.

The most important book for success, and the one that all other "success" books skirt around is How To Win Friends & Influence People by Dale Carnegie first published in 1936. Yes, it is old but the fundamentals that it teaches us about human nature is as true today as it was 73 years ago. Anyone in sales or management needs to keep this book handy, and everyone else should read it at least once. ALL of the latest "success" books currently on sale at your local book store are likely based on one or more of the lessons demonstrated in this book. Mr. Carnegie had all the bases covered and no new material has surfaced that has not already been taught and explained within this book. The title seems to suggest a personal building friends sort of thing but this is truly the best business book you can buy for networking people, presenting an idea, motivating people and, well, yes - making friends, building better communications with your spouse, teaching your children a better way to communicate. This book does not solve all your problems, it gives you the tools to resolve all your problems. BOTTOM LINE: Get this book and give some copies out to your boss, your protege and your teenage child.Read full review
My Mother read this Dale Carnegie book in her teens back in the 1940's. She said it helped her come out of her shell; I watched as my sister, in her early teens, went from an angry recluse to a popular social girl, in many clubs serving as president of 2 of them. She claims this very book helped her out of her reclusiveness. My brother who as actually taken many Dale Carnegie courses and has read all his books, has worked for various huge corporations as either a CFO or an executive. He knows Dale Carnegie has been a big reason for his success. I only wished I paid attention to their praises earlier. After finally reading this book, I found in life we often overlook the most obvious answer to our struggles; good socializing skills! This book is easy reading and eye opening. I found that within days of reading it my people skills were greatly improved. I plan on reading 'How to stop worrying and start living' as soon as it arrives in the mail.Read full review
If you really want to know the best, most effective, time-proven ways to get along with people...this is your guide. Its an old classic, and far far better than almost anything else that has ever been written. Dale Carnegie gets it, and he helps you get it too. By reading this book, you will understand what it takes to listen to others, to learn from them, how to be a good manager, how to make friends, how to keep friends, the meaning of sincere appreciation...in short, this book is a gem. Its a gift that keeps on giving & giving. Read it... then read it again... and keep it for reference, for it will make your life better, and the lives of everyone else around you better too.
I was introduced to this book nearly 30 years ago and the principles work for me today as they did then. I've gifted this book more than any other. My most important takeaway is if you want to be interesting, be interested.
