Excellent 8 core/16 thread processor! Great for use in older desktop builds and still supported in many motherboards. Great for multitasking multiple programs and tabs. I'm currently using it in an HP Pavilion with proprietary parts and the lower 65W draw combined with a low end GPU still keeps it within the low watt power supply range. It's also a processor that will allow you to upgrade to Windows 11 for free, given that you have TPM 2.0 as well. Always make sure that your motherboard supports the processor, either thru a BIOS update (which I had to do), or just naturally. I had to install the new BIOS first, then replace the processor. After installing it, I needed to update my chipset as well on my motherboard, so be aware of that. AMD has driver support, so make sure you have that downloaded beforehand to make things easier. Cpu works great. Had to update my bios for it to work. They wraith cooler was not compatible with my motherboard. Hoping the stock cooler will keep at cool.

Really good CPU for the average person. I use it to play games, and it seems to handle them with ease. While most people may compare it to the 8700k, it does offer less performance. However, when you look at the performance per dollar it is much better. Pared with a decent cooler and a good GPU, this is a great chip for gaming. With pretty easy overclocking you can make it run steady at 4.0 GHz without any issues. While you can push it harder, that tends to require unsafe voltage so you will degrade your chip. Overall, it does really well for all tasks. The 8 cores make it great for rendering videos or working with compressing files. The speed also makes it great for gaming too. While people will fangirl over which company is better, this chip is still a great choice at this price point.

Upgraded my six year old processor with this and it was easy to do. Of course AMD just released the 3700 so I wish I held out for that. This CPU works fine, but I can’t tell if it’s much faster at compiling (multithreaded) than my 6 year old intel i7. Supposed to be but not the night and day difference I was hoping for.

This morherboard and CPU formed the base of my PC, i paired it with 16gb of DDR4 3000 ram and a GTX 980. Yes there likely were better pairings but for the price it got the job done. I absolutely love everything about it except the fact that for whatever reason I can't seem to change the colors of the RGB on the motherboard. Other than that this is solid and i seriously enjoy it. This was my dream PC back in 2018 and you know what? Feels like I'm in a dream with how well this runs. 10/10 would buy again

I bought this specific CPU because the price was just right. I could not find any of the 2700X for less than $200 anywhere. I found this 2700 one for the right price so opted on getting this one instead of the X variant. Pretty happy with it. Huge performance increase from my previous rig. Very surprised at how cool it runs.

This cpu has been powered on for 365 days straight. It’s the workhouse of my unraid server and hasn’t let me down once. It’s performed when asked and runs multiple virtual machines and docker containers. I couldn’t be happier with this purchase!
