so this is the best bang for the buck of the touring car setups sold by Tamiya. The regular TT01 and TT02 need hop ups. This doesn't. You can run right out of the box. that it comes with a brushed instead of brushless motor is just to save money. I would have preferred they didn't include the motor and kept the price lower still. That it doesn't come with a body is also a plus because you can pick your own. I only upgraded the steering screws to more frictionless ones. Otherwise am running it stock. Maybe it needed a metal motor mount for heat sync properties. But its nimble out of the box and certainly robust (more so than any other TT02). Some may prefer more adjustable turnbuckles, but considering the TT02S and R setups, this is cheaper and for regular non-race use is actually better. You can grab the metal driveshaft if you prefer but for beginner use not necessary, same with the high speed gear set. It goes together quickly, shocks are good, and so are the SD tires (which you need to get used to if you're always running a grippy setup). I got a second set of Sgrip tires mounted just to change it up.Read full review
