OK. This is what it is. It holds two batteries so it doubles your frames between recharges. You must remove your battery door from your camera to install this so make sure you have a safe location to store it so that later when you sell your camera you don't have to explain why the door is missing. This has an extra set of some of the controls, like the shutter, so that makes vertical hold more comfortable. I mostly do time lapse with this old Canon and the extra battery life is nice. My grip is probably about 10 years old and the plastic is getting a little sticky. It's nothing that a coat of paint or some tape would not cure but it does not bother me enough to care. If you need this get one. If you don't it really makes you and the camera look silly.
