Built very nice and has great balance. You can't go wrong with this stainless steel blade. I haven't had any of the bad experiences others have complained about in the bad reviews section. One thing to note is, carbon blades tend to have sharper cutting edges over stainless steel blades. Get it while you can.

This is my second SWFRS, and I absolutely love it. Everything a responder needs in a knife is right here, and as a plus it’s rather light and very easy to open. As you can probably tell by the picture, mine sees plenty of use!

Blade is decent but the flat washers are nylon,and the bolsters are soft cast metal which will strip out when the steel T7 Torx screws are tightened. User suggestion: remove the pocket clip, loosen the blade screw with a T8 Torx on the S/W labeled side and apply a drop of mineral oil to the areas near the flat washers. This will allow easier opening of the blade. With light use the knife should last for a while but "heavy duty" it isn't.

For the price (around $15-20), you'd think it'd be a piece of crap. But once you have this in your hand to look over I detail, feel the weight, witness the quality workmanship that went into it, you'll realize what a great knife this is. Bought a few for myself, couple of friends and my spouse cause this is a versatile kind of tool everyone should have. You never know when you'll need to cut a strap, bust a window to get to safety, help someone in need or defend yourself in a quick situation. Get one for yourself and anyone you care about. This knife has a good weight, such that it is not too heavy to be cumbersome, but heavy enough to feel good in the hand. The unassisted opening blade is easily opened thanks to the blade spur, and is able to be carried more safely without worrying about accidental openings while being carried in the pocket.
