Quick, cheap fix for 3DS
My 3DS was dying after just 90 minutes or so of gameplay. I am a proponent of the 3D effects, so I'm sure that's what was killing my battery. While replacing the battery, I noticed my old one was swollen and almost bursting out of the compartment. Anyway, this new battery has allowed me to play MUCH longer, I'm back to ~4 hours (with 3D and sound). Great product, easy procedure, arrived quicker than stated. Fantastic!

Failed within 5 months
I purchased this battery in May '21 to replace the original battery in my New 3DS which I bought in November '16 (so about 4.5 years old). This replacement battery fit great and did seem to have a longer life that my old battery, but not nearly as long as the OEM battery when it was new. Fast-forward a few months (October), and the replacement battery no longer charges correctly and does not reliably power-up the 3DS - the power LED briefly illuminates, but immediately dies. The only way to keep the 3DS on is to plug it in to the power adapter, then turn it on. Battery shows full charge, but dies shortly after unplugging power. Also, the charge indicator does not always illuminate when plugged in. I have tried two different original Nintendo batteries (my old original battery and a brand-new battery I ordered directly from Nintendo after this one failed). Everything works correctly with the genuine Nintendo batteries, so this is definitely an issue with this replacement battery. The listing says this is an original Nintendo OEM battery, but I'm not convinced. Not only is the performance poor, the label on this battery is oriented differently than the OEM battery. On the OEM battery, the "Nintendo" text is along one of the short edges, whereas this battery has the "Nintendo" text along one of the long edges. I just received a brand-new battery directly from Nintendo, and that one matches my OEM battery label perfectly. I would avoid this battery in the future. It costs nearly the same as a brand-new battery directly from Nintendo, but doesn't perform nearly as well as a genuine Nintendo replacement.Read full review

Great official battery
This was a great replacement battery for my 3DS! I bought one for myself and one for my friend. The battery is an official battery from Nintendo, so that's why I chose it instead of an unofficial, supposedly 2000 mAh battery. It fits perfectly and operates perfectly as well. The battery arrived about a week earlier than what I was first told.

Poor battery life for being new. Lasts half as long as the original battery in the 5 year old console.
Battery life was not what I would expect from a new product. After multiple full charges it couldn't even last half the time the original battery on the system did playing the same game. I was hoping to increase my battery life back to what it was like when the console was new but this did not do that. I would look for a better product.

Battery works however doubt it's Genuine OEM
The original one is a Hitachi Maxell battery which is clearly printed on the side, this one doesn't have such label. The purchased one suggests it's Made in China, the original one doesn't specify the country of manufacture which I presume is Japan. Nonetheless, it works and is priced very well so happy all round
