An Intel GMA X3100 graphics processor, Intel Core 2 Duo T7250 CPU, and 32 GB solid-state hard drive comprise the foundation of the Latitude D530, while a mag-alloy case, StrikeZone shock absorbers, and Smart Security framework provides system protection inside and out. Dell RoadReady architecture strengthens the Latitude D530’s critical components and vulnerable areas with a combination of rigorous testing and structural reinforcement. A magnesium-alloy case provides the first line of defense against drops and bumps, and StrikeZone shock absorbers surround the solid-state hard drive for data-protection against severe impacts. During production, the Dell Latitude D530 undergoes a battery of tests to help ensure the laptop’s integrity. By withstanding shock and vibration, base-torsion, hinge-cycle, and multiple-drop testing, you can feel confident the Dell Latitude D530 can handle any everyday stressor and then some. The Dell Latitude D530 notebook’s Smart Security framework approaches system and network protection from the foundation up. An onboard Trusted Platform Module (TPM) security chip contains an RSA key pair – maintained inside the TPM and inaccessible by software – that verifies ownership and prevents unauthorized modifications to the Latitude D530’s firmware. When connected to a network, the server automatically checks the laptop for anomalies, such as keylogger-type software, and refuses network entry upon detection. You have the option of protecting data using 802.1X and Wi-Fi Protected Access 2 (WPA-type) security protocols, which employ the Advanced Encryption Standard. The Dell Latitude D530 notebook supports a fingerprint reader and Computrace tracking software, as well as BIOS- and hard-drive-password enablement. A 32 GB solid-state hard drive (upgraded from the stock 120GB HDD) with optional encryption and 512 MB of system RAM serves as the base memory for the Dell Latitude D530 laptop; a DDR2 SDRAM interface provides 2 GB and a memory speed of 667 megahertz. For example, you can customize the D530’s Intel Core 2 Duo T7250/2 gigahertz to run high-resource programs, such as games and presentation software, at full power and run low-resource applications, such as word-processing software, at minimal power. The Dell Latitude D530 notebook offers several memory configuration options. When increasing memory size, the Dell PCMCIA adapter supports a 35 millimeter Intel ExpressCard via USB port, and, if you want to save weight while on the road, you can swap out the Latitude D530’s DVD +-RW media drive for the Dell TravelLite Travel Module. The Dell Latitude D530 laptop comes with a bloatware-free version of Windows 7 Pro, but also supports Windows 7 Premium, Windows 7 Basic, Windows 7 Home Premium, Windows 7 Starter, Windows 7 Enterprise, and Windows 7 Ultimate. Still A Good Laptop
This laptop is about 10 years old and still performs well.I updated it to the fastest cpu it can take(Core 2 duo 2.2ghz)3gb ram, 240 gb hard drive, windows 10 pro and it's quite speedy.It also connects to 2.4 and 5g networks.It does what I want and I'm happy with it.The battery charges fully but drains quick.That's because it's a used battery so I'll replace it with a new one and see how long it last.Verified purchase: Yes

Yes but ......
I'm running Ubuntu 16.04, and the 2 Gigs of Ram are inadequate. Well have to see how difficult and expensive getting up to 4 Gig will be. It behaves flaky on startup, some times going into computer limbo, and then I have to do a HW restart. Hopefully, memory upgrade will fix it. My friendly neighborhood ubuntu guru is also trying to talk me into a faster HDD, too. I hope that doesn't turn out to be necessary. Lightweight with great features
This laptop is great I'm glad I purchased this item,it's very easy to use and finding everything is so easy. The Dell Latitude D530 is Lightweight and and the battery life is pretty long and that in itself is a plus when your on the road or when your sitting in your college classes. I really love this laptop, It makes my life easier when I'm taking notes and writing papers. Dell makes great laptops and I'm about to purchase three more. You can't go wrong with a Dell Laptop or any product that Dell put there name on, if you never purchase a Dell Laptop or desktop than you really should purchase one to find out what your really missing out on.
