I am not audiophile, I purchased this relying on the opinion of audiophiles. It is pricy, which I why I was happy to find a used one that was reasonably affordable and in great condition. I use it to power 4 speakers in the kitchen ceiling -- sounds wonderful, although I haven't risked cranking the volume past 50% for fear of blowing the speakers out of the ceiling :)

What a wonderful integrated amplifier. Yamaha has always produced exceptional products, and this is no different. It is musical, dynamic, very well built. The fit and finish is above average. It is a timeless classic.

The amp sounds pretty darned sweet pushing my Dayton Audio monitors that I built. Really, the only thing I'd knock are the controls, not from the standpoint of functionality, but simply looks. The plastic controls just look and feel a bit cheap. Otherwise, I'd give this amp a five rating. So far it doesn't seem that Yamaha skimped much on the actual internal components and, if you need to save money somewhere, I suppose the knobs are the place to do it. It's early in the game, but one thing I will say is that I definitely recommend the seller I bought this from. Great service on that side of the equation.
its simple to set up and use. sound quality is great. i have a pair of nht c3 hooked up to it. plenty of power.

Can't beat this for the money Pure direct mode is great and the unit has a good built in phono connection Rated 85 amps but puts out more than that
