These things are still kicking it in 2017! This iPad still supports the latest iOS 10, is cheaper than an iPad mini 3 or 4, and can do nearly anything they can. Super portable and doesn't feel like a processor from 4 years ago! Highly recommend this over any other iPad for value! Anyone would find using iPad to be fast and responsive! Much more than the original non-retina display iPad mini. Recommend staying away from the first iPad mini but get this instead

Since the first day, the touchscreen starts to get crazy suddenly, like several non-stop touches on the screen randomly and fast. It's impossible to play any game when it starts, and if I am watching a video it makes the video pause. Because it doesn't happen often, I believe the owner decided not mention about this problem.

i dont have an iphone, verizon charges $30 per month minimum for data, plus charges for texting, and usage. this is my first apple product, i wanted something to occupy my time commuting, lunch, downtime, also play music. really nice, packaged well, setup is easy, works great. i got the mini because i can hold it in 1 hand, couldnt (dont think anybody can) hold the ipad standard in 1 hand. text is sometimes a little small, and i am pressing things i dont mean to. but i will prob get more accurate as i go on. bought a nice case for it (dodo classic) and plan on trying to keep it in great condition so i can sell it and buy an ipad mini retina in the fall (should be out around then. i didnt get the cellular model, because i have a cell phone, and cant imagine a situation that i would absolutely have to get it on line when there is no wifi.Read full review
When you are traveling a lot the last thing you want to do is take a lot of individual chargers. since I have upgraded my iphone 4 to iphone 5 taking the full sized ipad was no longer a viable option. (iPad mini and iphone 5 both work on a 7 pin) Small enough to be tucked away in my laptop compartment, big enough to handle all of my applications. I have both the nook and the Kindle fire and I find the size comparible. For those of you who are still on iphone 4, amazon sells an adaptor for a couple of dollars (order well in advance of your trip) a lot of people have complained about the smaller screen but on the road I find it no smaller than the e-readers. It all boils down to your intended purpose. are you going to watch movies on this thing? check your email? Be honest and list the times you will use it and where you will use it and make your choice. I will recommend an otter box cover for it when you at home. (also sold at amazon it is a soft foam cover that will cause you a lot of grief if a little one accedently drops it and it has a built in stand.Read full review
I was looking for a lightweight tablet. I started with cheap no known name brands and found out you get what you pay for. So I decided to shell out a little more and try this ipad mini, it is fast easy to use, responds well, has a long battery life. It is worth the extra amount that it costs.
