It’s a great processor, easy installation/Swap (clean and repaste with quality paste) yet my particular purchase may not hav been the best example as I found my previous i5 was actually performing better in boot times and various tasks... I think this is do to a hot-run or burnt i7 as I bought another and followed the same process and it kicks ass!!!!

It runs great, spent a few weeks testing it with all sorts of stuff, 100% sustained loads on all 8 threads without issue. Turned up all the turbo boosts to max in bios, no issues staying under 45C even with cheap watercooling. No idea if the GPU works; I couldn't care less. I wanted the fastest thing that would fit on my mainboard that (most likely) wouldn't have been overclocked...and this is it.

It's a great CPU overall. A touch old now but greatly improved the performance of an older PC at approximately 1/3 the cost of a comparable new CPU. 4 cores & 8 threads gives plenty of performance for various programs to run simultaneously, combined with a 3.9GHz processing speed helps things like video editing & transcoding or gaming. While transcoding can use 90-100% of the CPU, most games use only 10-25% of the CPU.

When I installed this chip into a 67A motherboard it would not work. After doing some research I found I would have to download and install a bios upgrade to use this processor on my present 67A motherboard. After some thought, I instead bought a used 77A motherboard. I installed the i7-3770 processor and its been working fine ever since. I'm very happy with both purchases (the motherboard, and the i7-3770 processor). If you do go this route make sure you download and install the chipset drivers for any motherboard that you use/purchase along with this processor.

I have an old LGA1155 motherboard and this was the last processor that can support it without overclocking. I tried it and I was very surprised. It is excellent, fast and powerful. 100% recommended.

The i7-3770 is easy to install and can handle overclocking without excessive heat. This one is running at over 4.2 GHz on a regular basis with additional case fans installed and a Salmans heat sink fan running minimum speed.

Install was easy, had to take the battery out of the cmos to give the motherboard a fresh start, after that no problems whatsoever and the speed is good enough for my VR setup.

Went from a Core i3 to this i7. Transcoding videos is much faster with the extra cores and threads. Not the latest tech, but most people will find this more than adequate. If you have an older machine, (Socket 1155) this is an excellent upgrade if the price is right.

Still is a great CPU for an upgrade from an i5 considering that it is a 5 year old part. Also has some overclocking headroom and is good value for the money if you are able to get one for a decent price.

The i7-3770 is a clear upgrade over what I had before. I can tell a noticeable difference in speed between opening new pages and how many I can have open.
