I really didn't need the part with the handle, but only the filter cup. Apparently the old lady was cleaning it out in the kitchen garbage and got distracted by the dogs who thought it was snake time because the cabinet door was openend. She probably drop the filter cup into the garbage and forgot about it while she gave the dogs their treats.
