This book is about the secret CIA wars from the time period of 1980-87. But, most of the book is spent discussing the secret deals, wars, conversations within the CIA and not much about the actual work being done. Bureaucracy at its finest. It is a wonder that anything gets done in our country. And, how can an operation be "secret" if so many people, including senators, have to know what is going on? It should then lose its designation as "Top Secret", one would think. But then, I don't work for the government. What little information there is, the Iran-Contra affair, elections, the Iran hostage situation, the Soviet Union and Communism are discussed. I read this book because, during the 1980's I scarcely had any time to wonder what was going on in the world. I see that I did't miss much.Read full review
