My speedometer kept dropping out, found it needed module to buy from bmw isn$2800. I am master certified BMW technician so I was skeptical at first, but I was not putting $2800 part on my car. I have put over 100 miles on this module and no issues. No programming was needed. Highly recommend doing this and not the whole unit from BMW.

I'm a retired BMW Master Tech. If you have an e39/53, the inevitable, "Christmas Tree" style warning lights are coming soon to a town near you (if they haven't already). My cost on a new DSC control unit was literally more than my old e39 was worth. At dealer cost... You cannot just go down to the junkyard and pick up a good used DSC unit and swap it in to your car. It's a vehicle specific component and you'll need a new one...or...this guy! I sent my unit out and in 3 days it was back to me. It bolts in with 6 T20 torx screws that will take you 1 minute to remove and another to install. As soon as turned the car on, I knew the problem was fixed. No more DSC warning light! No more ABS warning light! No more traction control warning light! I'd been driving around with so many lights on in the instrument cluster that it was weird to have them all out. I washed it up, waxed it and spent over an hour driving her around enjoying the warning-free cluster. All for what? $150 + shipping and a return label? Biggest value in BMW-land, period. I would HIGHLY recommend this guy for DSC control unit repairs if you have an e39/e53 BMW (1996-2003 5 series, or 1999 (2000-2006 X5). This guy rocks! (Update, after that hour of driving, an intoxicated guy totaled my car in a rear end accident. Nobody was hurt, but it was a total bummer... I might pick up another e39 in the future and will no doubt use this guy to do the DSC unit repair again!)Read full review

matt did a great job kept me informed during the whole process from when i brought the service to when he was sending it back, been using the repaired module for a few hundred kms now with no trouble, saved me almost $2000 opposed to buying a new one, will reccomend his services to everyone, cannot thank him enough.will not hesitate to use again if need arises.

Great job, unit fixed.
I was getting the ABS error after my engine ran for a while and it was hot under the hood. I got my unit repaired. He told me he re-soldered the terminals and replaced a MOSFET. The results are perfect I have not had any of the issues as before despite having the same conditions that produced the error so many times before. Also it appears he sealed the unit well which should help prevent future corrosion.

Repaired and returned to me in four days
The ABS, BRAKE, and DSC lights were lighting up simultaneously on my dashboard, indicating a likely fault with the ABS control module. I removed the module, boxed it up, and shipped it out to Matt, who promptly repaired and returned the item to me in less than 4 days. Upon reinstalling my ABS control module my dashboard is now free of any lights whatsoever, which is not only impressive but also really rewarding for a 740il with over 230,000 miles on it!

Solved my problem!
Like many others, I had a persistent DSC light ('02 BMW 525i). Fault codes pointed me to a wheel sensor but that wasn't the issue. I sent my module out and it came back a few days later - no DSC light. The system works just like if i put in a new module, but no coding or resetting was required. Easy fix to a frustrating problem!

the gentlemen is a professional in every sense of the word! when my module was unrepairable (my main chip was fried)he automatically refunded the full amount before he he told me the problem. have never met anyone (beside a close friend not a total stranger) else would take something electrical apart analyze it find the problem not be able to repair it give you a full refund (1st email ) than an hour later receive a email explaining why.
