It's a classic. A small, lightweight lens that takes fine pictures with little fuss, it's also a prime lens, and its 1.4 mm size has really opened up what I - or anyone - can do with it. When people talk about having "the fun back" with Fuji X cameras, I would imagine this may be what some mean. No more having to fish out a mobile camera for indoor shots and no more tired arms! I recommend it.

This lens is actually a fantastic lens and one of the few "must haves" in your kit. Functionally, it fits without fumbling and the images are everything you would expect from a top of the line lens. I gave it three stars because it is noisy and I actually feel the movement when using AF. In the wild, it was too loud (In my opinion). It is not a mistake either, I have tried 2 others with the same result. I may be a bit harsh because of the noise however, my 200mm is as loud but it is what you would expect from a 200mm motor. If this does not bother you, you must get this lens.

This is a lightweight but well constructed and optically magnificent lens for the Fuji X series ILCs. I have subsequently obtained the fuji kit lens (18-55mm) and the 60mm macro. Among all the three, this is the best lens in terms of portability and performance. If one can only have one lens for a fuji X camera, this should be the one. The kit lens, although good compared to other kit lenses, does not gel with the mirrorless philosophy of being small and portable. The 60mm is painfully slow to autofocus at times and certainly not reliable in crunch situations. This lens, does it all, and does everything well. You can use it for portraits, general street photography, studio shots, close ups, low light shots, landscapes and architecture. I think this will remain on my fuji X camera most of the time. On a side note, I obtained a few extras with this lens as part of a "value package". Three of the things were from Precision Digital (a camera bag, a tripod, and a lens case). They are some of the worst quality products I have seen and I would stay away from them even if they are for free. Certainly not worth packaging as "value items" with a great product such as this lens. Read full review

When a lens gets the kind of hype this one does, you assume it must be mostly just that - hype. Turns out there really is something about this lens that transcends the usual. I have a Super Takumar 50 f1.4 that is another magical lens, so maybe it is just the large aperture, but not all fast lenses can “paint” a picture like this. It is a bit slow and noisy, but not too bad, and I’m used to manual anyway. Gonna keep this one, no doubt. Plus, it’s one of the very few lenses compatible with stc clip-in filters, so that’s now an option again.

This lens is lovely for capturing subjects, with its wide aperture of f/1.4, and a wide enough focal length to include the environment around them in a way that is natural and close to the original nifty-fifty millimeter on original 35mm film cameras, which captured images as close as any lens could to human vision. This also makes it great for street photography, events, and photo-journalism. I highly recommend it for it's sturdy metal casing and front and rear threading, and clear glass. High quality in an affordable light package.

I create magic with this lens every time. I love the 50mm focal length and I shoot tons of portraits so the f1.4 shallow depth of field is a beautiful add. I know people complain about the lens being loud and autofocus being slow but honestly it’s never been a issue for me and this is my third copy. I’ve shot editorials to Dance shoots. Something about the bokeh speaks poetry to my eyes. Funny story this was the first lens I got when I started shooting fujifilm and sold it immediately 😂. Trust I’ll never make that mistake again.

I own many lenses and somehow didn't wind up using this for a while after buying it until lately. I have come to love it for its sharpness, good contrast and light gathering. Wonderful for portraits, macro shots, and low light situations among others. It is now my go to standard lens, also light and compact!

Like my title says. Brutally sharp wide open and focuses very fast on my XT-2 It is well made and lightweight. I also have the 23F/2.0 but because of the performance of this lens, I will be upgrading to the 23F/1.4 as well.

Probably one of my favorite lenses, paired with the xs-10 I have a hard time using my main camera because the lighting fast focus and face detection is amazing. Pictures look great, the lens looks great. It’s a win win.

This lens is my favorite in the Fuji X lineup. The images produced by the glass have a magical quality that is difficult to explain. The images are sharp with a beautiful transition to the out of focus areas. The build quality is superb and the focus speed is snappy with the XT3. If you have a budget for just one fast Fuji prime, this one should be on your short list.
