I have only had this lens a few hours. Works great F8.0-2.8. Picture is sharpe, nice bokeh, color and contrast good. I use on a D600 and a Fujifilm X-Pro1. Can't wait to see how it will perform once I get it repaired. This is a nice to have lens for me. I have the 85 1.8 and the 80-200 both are AF. When using the 80-200 I found most of my portrait work was shot at 135 therefore I wanted to try a prime 135. The price was very good even after I factor in the cost of repair. Focus was smooth and the focus lock indicates really help me in low light. Can't wait to spend more time with it before I ship it off for repairs. Yep this is a keeper. (Follow up starts here) I think I have located a company in Atlanta, Ga that may be able to repair the lens. Shot more portraits in natural sunlight at apertures 5.6, 4, and 2.8. The focusing ring turns smoothly. I prefer the sharpness at 4 and 5.6 over 2.8. The bokeh is excellent at 2.8 put I prefer the combination of sharpness and smooth bokeh at 5.6 and 4. I can see using this lens for portraits or stationary subjects. My old eyes are not good enough to use this lens or any of my other manual lenses for weddings or sports. I love this focal point. It has a great build quality, the focus ring turns 360° making it easy to use the manual focus (most of the reviews say it is smooth to turn but I got mine very heavy). At f2.8 it is a little soft and start to be sharper from f4 to have its maximum sharpness at f8. Don't buy it if you don't like the manual focus or the manual mode, not practical for wedding photography when you need fast shots. It's a good deal if you find it at a low price.

I love this lens. It's super start, great colors and contrast. Not much left for me to do in post-edditing. It's very small and build well. Down side is that it is manual focus but it's actually fun and I get 8 out of 10 shots in focus. Even tracking moving objects is not hard. It does great in good light conditions. I prob would not recommend it for indoor shooting but with good light or higher ISO you can still use it. My pictures were not edited and I was shooting on Nikon D7100

This lens is great, so great that if you are considering buying one, you should. It's heavy duty and feels like it could withstand a whole lot of use and travel. The one I purchased is nearly 35 years old and it still feels perfect, everything works as should and the shutter clicks nice and loud and it just feels good. It's a great walk about lens and allows you to get some interesting city life shots from a fairly decent distance away. It's a great lens and a couple of the images that I have taken with it (in only owning it for around a month) have already been published. People are impressed. You should probably buy one.

Tiny scratches on the lens barrel and tiny dust on the interior (no big deal), otherwise works flawlessly both optically and cosmetically. Strongly recommended for portrait and long distance street shooting (very good at creating theatrical scenes). Perfect sharpness (not affected by the dust) and background separation. Not significant fall out on the corners with aperture wide open. Handles low light situation very well with a full frame camera. Overall superb quality and good value (considering Canon135F2L costs five times over).
