It's a non managed switch, so not really much to say about set up. Plug in your Ethernet cables, plug in the switch. So simple a non-techie significant other could do it. I was using a four port switch but with the addition of a networked TV, blueray player, apple tv... i was running out of available ports. I ordered this and received the usual super fast shipping from Amazon. Packaging was excellent. From the time I unpacked the switch to the time i was done (including moving the old 4 port switch over to the home theater area and plugging in the apple tv to stop using wireless) it took 5 minutes. Yes there are cheaper switches out there, but since this switch is in a semi-visible area I wanted something that looked a little nicer. Having it come from Cisco is just an added bonus. - Why you bought it i was looking for a cheap solution for a home 1Gb Ethernet network. - What you like most about it this is a simple PnP, no configuration or any other hassle. just stick the cables it and it is running. - What you dislike about it in the user manual there is no mention about the type of Ethernet cables needed to be used. it took me a while to understand that when connecting it to a router you need a "cross over" cable. it does not show anywhere, not even online in CISCO's support page. - Whether or not you would buy the product again once the correct Ethernet cable was used, all went well, i would definitely buy the product again if such a solution would be needed.

It doesn't get much simpler than this switch. Plug and play and the 2500 does the rest of the work. It's like adding a splitter to your television antenna.
