The Kyocera Duramax cell phone from Sprint is a basic and an excellent phone for people who are afraid of technology. The keypad has big numbers although a little hard to press, easy to find menus, easy and simply OS, and ruggedized body. I bought this cell phone as a replacement for my mother and she loves it. Some recommended tweaks to help your parents have a pleasant experience: change the font size to large, speed dial, disable push to talk featured, and change to use only the Sprint network to avoid roaming charges. Reception is good so far. No internet or messaging where tested.
I have this phone as a personal phone, and I will admit that it's a great phone. Although it isn't a smartphone, this phone is simple to use, and can carry a Nextel Area Network almost flawlessly. It is also very durable. I would highly recommend this phone to users who LOVE the Nextel Direct Connect feature with the Sprint CDMA network. Phone calls never drop for me, and PTT feature is a great edition to this new Technology Sprint is pushing out. Battery could be better, but what battery is perfect on a Mobile device? Good Price too!
Not feature rich or for browsing the Internet, but just "phone". Refreshing change from the constant notifications...

I got really tired of touch screen phones: One got wet, another broke the screen when I bent over to pick up something (it was in my rear pocket) and finally I got another one with so sensitive screen that ended up crashed on the floor. I went simple and bought this Kyocera from Ebay. Not only is easy to use, it also looks nice and is perfect for the different jobs I do. Two friends bought the same phone. Battery outlast many other phones and from my experience, it really seems to be water resistant. Finally I have what I really needed.
This phone can take a beating. I have had all of the fancy smartphones and have decided to go back to this a simple phone. Why do I need a smart phone, computer and a tablet. I need just a phone. It is simple and has nice features. Love the calender and alarm feature. I do not have to worry about working in the garage or on the house and it getting wet or dusty.I can use it while my hands are dirty something I cannot do with my touch screens.
Why should we pay for internet connection monthly with a smart phone if my husband rarely uses the phone just for talking. Great simple phone. Takes the lickin and keeps on ticking.

It is thick for a flip phone but designed to be rugged. Easy to return to the opening screen (just press the red "end" button) if options management gets confusing. It appears the battery charge may be sufficient for a week assuming only a few short duration calls. It is easy to hold and the audio is sufficiently loud and clear. It has many more options and features than I will ever use.

Tough as nails, and soft as a baby's (you know). Not too heavy, not to light, easy on ear and excellent LCD color screen. Best non-smart phone I have every used (and I have been utilizing car and cell phones since 1973. This is an excellent phone if today's smart phone stuff is not desired. Economical, dependable and rugged.....great value.
