EA GAMES' vaunted Need for Speed series, which first hit the gas in 1995 on the 3DO platform, continues with the multi-platform release of Need for Speed: Underground. As the title suggests, players are embroiled in the shadowy world of illicit street racing. Players will enlist in various underground events held on city streets at dusk. While battling rivals in drag races or more conventional pursuits, players can earn cash used to purchase an assortment of vehicle modifications. Over 20 licensed cars are available to tweak and customize from such manufacturers as Mitsubishi, Toyota, and Suburu, among others. Developed by the same team responsible for 2002's Hot Pursuit 2, the game also features official parts from Bilstein, Audiobahn, Dazz Motorsport, and other providers.

Need for speed underground. It needs no introduction. no, but seriously! It's a good game. If you love racing games and you haven't played this. mate, I question you! :)
Bought the game knowing it was ps2 format but have gotten away with other games in the past so decided to take a shot and got the game home and was saddened that it is not compatible with my PS3
Why did I buy NFS: Underground? That's easy. I bought it because of the graphics, music, fast paced action and all the beautiful cars one can dream of customizing into a racing treat. I'm the kind of guy who loves speed. Think about it, where else can you buy a car, customize it and race legally. Nowhere except in a video game. Now this is no ordinary racing game. It blends colors and scenery into a daytime and night time master piece. I used to have the NFS collection for Nintendo GameCube, which had great graphics and real detail of everything, from the grill of the cars to the expressions on peoples faces. It really out did the franchise when they brought out NFS: Most Wanted. When you play, you can see real people coming up into your face and trash talking. So, why did I buy it? The real question is, why haven't you bought it yet.Read full review
This game is my favorite Need for Speed game. Go underground and take on several different street racers and push your way up the list of top racers. Complete racing objectives in catigories like: sprint, drag, drift, circuit, knock out, and tournaments. Earn enough money and use it to totally trick out your ride. In the shop you can choose hoods, side skirts, spoilers, paint jobs, roof scoops, headlights, tail lights, performance upgrades, and much more. This is a game you simply must play.
I really like this game. This one was my first racing PS2 game.
I like this game because it is very simple to drive, the car mobility is great for a beginner, you can feel it at the curves... the steering is very soft, so you only need to make small moves with the pad/stick to control the car at the curves...
It has limited options, but it is good for a beginner, also if the player doesn't know to much about cars...
Good for first racing game
