You not only need to plan your moves 2 or 3 steps ahead, you also have to plan how to block your opponent. The game stand snaps together quickly and the brightly colored pieces are a good size and weight that drop into the slots easily. It's a fun activity that children can quickly learn how to play. Adults will think it's a simple game and will soon find out it's very challenging.

Connect 4's one of the many games that's been around for ages. It's simple enough to play but complex enough to keep you and whoever you're playing against guessing. I have the travel version of the game where it's significantly smaller, but the base gameplay is the same. The game consists of a vertical drop grid where players who own different colored discs (red and yellow) have to drop 4 in a row in any direction to win. You have option of starting anywhere at the bottom of the grid, and simply take turns dropping your discs until one of the players win. The board and checker discs are constructed of sturdy plastic that will make them hard to break, though it is not recommended to keep them around toddlers. All around a solid game; a must buy for family game nights.
