My 3rd ball retriever - best so far!
I've had 2 other ball retrievers in the past. I've only had this one for about 3 weeks but so far, so good. I like it's compact size, the mechanism that captures the golf ball, the way it telescopes and the all metal construction. The compact size allows you to store it in a side pocket of your golf bag. The spring loaded dual ring that captures the golf ball works better than others. To extend the length, you just pull it out, them push it back in to collapse it. Most others, you have to tighten and loosen a ring on each section when opening or closing out. The all metal construction looks and feels like it should last a long time. Only slight disadvantage versus other retrievers is that it doesn't extend quite as far but I thing the positives far outweigh this one negative

Compact enough to fit in side pocket...
Very easy to retrieve those golf balls that don’t like to go on to the fairway and prefer heavy rug and water! Just be careful not to push down to hard on the smallest extension let the spring action do the work. If the ball is stuck in mud under water... is the ball worth breaking the retriever?

Does exactly what it's designed to do!
I have only used this I Gotcha ball retriever a few times in the few weeks since I purchased it but I really like it. It is very well made with tight slip joints that extend easily. It has an enormous reach and has had no issue picking up golf balls from all kinds of places. I have fished them from water, under bushes, across creeks, and so on. So far I have collected about 2 dozen stray golf balls that would otherwise been left to face the harsh elements on their own. Very good buy and I would not hesitate to purchase another ir/when the time comes.

Great getter
I haven't had the chance to use this yet because its 14 degrees outside and a foot of snow on the ground. I have used this type of getter in a smaller version for years. They work better then any I've used in my many years of playing golf. The extra length will save me at least the cost of the getter in retrieved balls as I use Pro v1's most of the time. My only negative comment would be the handle. It could use something with a little more texture for grip at the end of it. The dipped rubber grip would be a great addition.

A Good Product and With Minor Manufacturing Modification Would Be Even Better
This is my second Gotcha Ultimate in 5 years. The first lasted 4 years before the metal pin attaching the yellow lock mechanism rusted out and the plastic subsequently cracked across the pin hole. I tried various adhesives but none held. Ended up taping it with electrical tape and it worked for another season. Finally the plastic neck broke and I "deep-sixed" it in a lagoon. Must say it more than paid for itself in retrieved golf balls, and provided some entertainment after I declared myself out of a hole and opted to go fishing. Manufacturer needs to change metal pin to one that won't rust since it is to be immersed in water.
