I got tired of feeding my neighbor's cat every time she went out of town! Fortunately the cat has its own kitty door, and goes outside (no litter box!), so I just had to keep the food and water coming. Now with this, my job is a lot easier. My neighbor uses it all the time (in town, or not). The only problem I worry about is that because you don't have to fill it every day you could get out of the habit of providing the food and accidentally let it empty.
