I have purchased a total of 4 of these over the past couple of years. One I gave away with a laptop. One I wore out, the left key click became erratic. It likely was still within warrantee, but it was not worth the effort to find the receipt and return. Three out of the four have worked without a hitch. I like the good battery life and that there is a convenient switch to turn the mouse off. The small USB dongle is great in that it can be left plugged into a laptop which is all I use this type of mouse for. For desktop I use a Logitech Marathon mouse which seems slightly more comfortable on a hard surface and is a little larger and hand filling. The MX works very nice on soft surfaces, like on the couch surface next to me. The MX is very forgiving as regards the surface, even working on a glass table top. But I have noted of the 4 I have used, one was a little iffy on glass, and that is the same one that developed the left button issue. I also like the mouse comes with a zippered case...very useful for travel. Another plus is the MX mouse wheel can be switched from free spin to detent just by pressing on it. It makes is easy to go from fast scrolling to slow. Logitech also has software to make the dongle pair with other Logitech devices such as a keyboard. I have not tried it but different types of mice could be added, such as a trackball.
My recommendation...when I need another portable mouse, I will look to buy another one of these.Read full review
When the mouse first arrived, it worked well. Today, it stopped working on my table.
My table-top is white semi-gloss formica. I don't like using a mouse pad, which is why I opted for the darkfield.
I use the mouse on a desktop computer which is connected to my TV. The wireless feature allows me to sit away from the PC and still control it.
Today, the mouse failed to work on the table-top. After testing a number of combinations, it appears to work on other surfaces, just not my table.
Something stopped working. Not sure what.
I owned the first iteration of this mouse and I loved it. This newer model mostly improves on a solid mouse. It is great to have a rechargeable battery built in with a USB cable to charge as you are using it. No pulling out batteries and waiting to recharge our swap them out. It also works with the included micro USB adapter, or through Bluetooth. This is perfect so you don't constantly have to use up one port. The only thing I am not crazy about is the power button. The original design had a large sliding power "button" that covers the laser when not in use. It was easy to turn off without even looking. This update had a much smaller button that is almost impossible to turn off without turning it over and accidentally hitting the connect button. But this is a minor inconvenience. Finally, the clicking portion of the old mouse notoriously dies after around a year of use, and this mouse uses the same buttons. So far, it is an excellent choice.Read full review
This is a very nice mouse that is comfortable in the hand and has customizable buttons and a scroll wheel that will click or free spin. Battery life is supposed to be somewhere in the neighborhood of three months. Not as good as the Marathon Mouse, which can keep batteries going for more than a year, but still, not bad. I purchased this to use with a new laptop and so far so good.
I love this mouse for its looks, comfort, and features. It has a nice, premium texture, and feels much lighter than the previous generations of this mouse. Also, all of the buttons seem easier to click and provide better tactile response. It has two modes of pairing (Unifying and Bluetooth) for versatility.
It does not come with a carrying pouch like the MX Anywhere 1 did, but luckily I had an extra one. The battery life is short, but can be easily recharged with the included USB cable. Unfortunately, this mouse does not support data-over-cable. If the Unifying receiver is taking up the only USB port, you will not be able to use it while charging. I see many people using the Unifying receiver due to its temperamental Bluetooth connection in certain scenarios. Also, if your device is more than a couple of years old the Bluetooth may not even work at all, as it uses Bluetooth "Smart," a newer, more efficient standard than traditional Bluetooth. Granted, the receiver is Logitech's smallest one yet, but it still takes up a USB port (laptops don't have many) and does not come pre-paired with it. And while the product is reasonably priced, the Bluetooth technology is a big part of the cost.
I have owned every generation of Logitech's so-called "nano receiver" wireless mice; this is the first to use Bluetooth. I can finally enjoy a small, but feature-filled mouse without worrying about batteries, burning a USB port, or weight. I have not had this product very long, but I imagine it to be as reliable as its predecessors. However, Logitech curiously lowered the warranty from 3 years to 1, so we will see.Read full review
