If you are looking for a stylish, small, quiet Mac desktop computer, the Apple Mac Mini Aluminum unibody Core i5 A1347 may be just right for you. Encased in a smooth, futuristic 7.7" square inch by 1.4" tall body, the 2.3 GHz MC815LL/A model possesses a 32-nm Sandy Bridge Intel Core i5 (2415M) processor with two independent cores on a single chip. Released in July 2011, this entry-level Mac Mini is ideal for basic productivity and graphics. Compared to its predecessor, the mid-2011 Mac Mini offers a faster processor, architecture, RAM, graphics, and improved wireless capabilities. The Mac Mini aluminum unibody case contains the Intel dual-core i5 with a 3 MB shared level 3 cache for quick, smooth processing capabilities. It utilizes a 5 GT/s Direct Media Interface in lieu of the traditional system bus. This Apple features 2 GB of 1333 MHz DDR3 type SDRAM (PC3-10600) memory. A 500GB Serial ATA hard drive running at 6 GB/s stores your audio, video, image, and document files. An Intel HD Graphics 3000 with 288 MB of shared video memory allows for a high-capacity display. With built-in 802.11a/b/g/n Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth 4.0 this Mac unit offers flawless, uninterrupted streaming connectivity at brisk speeds. Other connectivity features include a Firewire 800 port, four USB 2.0 ports, combined audio line in (digital/analog) and combined audio line out/headphone (digital/analog) minijacks, a 10/100/1000Base-T Gigabit Ethernet port, an SDXC card slot, Thunderbolt port, and an HDMI port. The HDMI port supports 1920 by 1200 on an HDMI display or on a DVI display using a HDMI-to-DVI adapter. The Thunderbolt port is backward compatible with the Mini Display Port and supports an external monitor with a 2560 by 1600 pixel display while passing an audio signal as well. This Apple computer will support simultaneous dazzling displays at 1920 by 1200 and 2560 by 1600 through its two display ports. The dual monitor support will increase your productivity with two screens for large spreadsheets, multiple side-by-side pages, or multiple apps simultaneously. You can choose to display one image across two monitors or run two completely different sets of programs. Upgrades for this Mac are easy for anyone to perform. The two memory slots can be accessed through a threaded cover on the bottom and populated with up to two 8GB SO-DIMMs to upgrade your memory from 2GB up to 16GB. Dual capabilities also extend to the built-in storage. Although the standard hard drive is a 500GB 5400rpm Serial ATA drive, a 750 GB unit at 7200 rpm is also supported. There is also room for a second hard drive or SSD to be installed inside the aluminum enclosure. This mid-2011 Apple desktop model originally shipped with Mac OS X 10.7 (Lion), but it is fully upgradable directly to a system software called Sierra for additional performance enhancements. In all, this entry-level Apple 2.3 GHz Mac Mini A1347 model is fully capable of performing tasks with seamless productivity and graphics, playing casual games, and streaming HD movies over Wi-Fi.

Ok.. I wasn’t expecting much from a 2011 Mac Mini, but this thing can still get some semi heavy work done. The one thing to note is the newer OS (10.14) isn’t compatible with the hardware from 2011, so that is something to be very mindful of before you buy the mini. I use the mini as a media center, light gaming, and networking. So if you’re looking for an inexpensive Mac for simple low power use, grab this one because it’s worth the money. Lastly, make sure the mini has a minimum of 8fb of RAM. Anything lower than that will hinder the experience, er, the computer will not function quickly.
Nice lil unit. Compact and fully functioned BUT poor graphics speed. Just an Intel chip.
Can't use it on Second Life virtual reality site. Can't keep up with the avatar movements.
Surprising that Apple graphics are that clunkey.
Love the SSD, solid state drive is faaaassst. Loads the O/S in 15 seconds.
This Mac is amazing for a dev-box! It's small, expandable, and able to do alot for its size! My only issues with it would be that iCloud seems to take a TON of resources, but that's not the computers fault at all. If you are wanting to host a mini web server fro your home or host a NAS on one of these guys, you can more than likely manage to get pretty decent results!
Great device - needs 8 GB RAM and SSD to see full potential.
4GB Ram is not enough to run this machine - you need 8gig unless you want to wait a month for every Simple operation. Swapping in an SSD with the added RAM - it halls ass. The downside of the 2011... it can't run Mojave. High Sierra is last OS it runs. I thought is was a 2012 when I bought it. I had put 2012 in the search and did not pay attention. Other than that, the older upgradeable Mac Mini machines are gold. That is - up to 2012.
Budget minded people who are looking for a great value need look no further.
I have owned a mac mini for ten years and never had an issue with its performance.
Something I can not say for the many pcs I have also owned for business. I upgraded the memory to 8gb to help with video playback and keep the unit running cooler.
