Yes it's an older device, it doesn't exactly run as fast as newer stuff, and obviously is lacking in the software department while being limited to iOS 5.1.1.. But it doesn't suck. For a mere $40, you'll get something way better in quality than anything brand new at this price point. You can still download old versions of apps from the play store or find old versions of apps online and sync with iTunes. It's not a tank by any means, it's not gonna do everything right.. But I can surf the web on lighter web pages, browse Facebook, stream movieson Netflix and music via spotify. Apps which don't use the web so much, run smoothly and don't lag out. For being a device from 2010, it's a fine, gorgeous, well refined, well built, and well oiled iPad. 8 years later, and it's still genuinely usable.

I purchased this product for an older family member who was looking for Internet access for mainly surfing purposes. I feel this 1st generation hit the mark because they didn't require high productivity although I know this iPad can deliver. I liked that it will give them the Internet access along with the use of Apps so they can become more familiar with what's going on in the world from a digital perspective. The price was suitable because it lacks the camera and that is ok because they wouldn't use this feature & it would be wasted. Also for the 32GB I feel the storage would allow them to use this product for years without need to upgrade.
Although this iPad is a first generation iPad, it has the same capability that the more expensive versions now available have, and through this vendor at 1/4 the price. The seller packaged the product very well, it arrived right on schedule and worked correctly from the moment the box was opened. It was refreshing to receive a product that the battery was even charged up so that I could begin using it from unwrapping it. I use this iPad mostly for flight training, and as an active CFI I have Foreflight which allows complete document support as well as GPS tracking for backup to the airplane systems. Just register for an Apple account, and you are off and running. The settings are intuitive and easy, with graphics support for adjustment so it is easier than just text menu's. Although is heavier than the later cousins, with a good screen protector, and light weight case protector, it is still much lighter than a laptop, and almost as capable. If you don't have a laptop, or yours is very old, for $99 a keyboard can be added and you can do all you can do with a laptop with this iPad. Even in full sunlight the screen can be read just fine, you just have to increase the brightness in settings and angle the sreen so that the sunlight does not wash out the screen display. I am very happy with this iPad!Read full review
I love my new Apple Ipad. I plan to use it when I travel or go on vacation in place of my bulky laptop. I wish that it had the camera feature, but that wasn't a deal breaker. We are still learning a lot about what it can do and how to use it. This product is great for the price that we paid and it came with some great accessories. Couldn't beat the deal. The storage capacity and speed are amazing. Would recommend this product to anyone!
bought this for my wife for Christmas...Wasn't sure if she would use it, so I decided to save some money and buy a used one on ebay. She absolutely loves it and brings it everywhere. She has linked all her email accounts and address book and it is working flawlessly...But, now she wants a new one Oh well... The weight is a bit much when compared to the new ones but for the price this is a great deal.
I was a current iPad owner and purchased this one as a Christmas gift for my son because I absolutely love mine! It's portable, easy to use, has a long battery life and has almost completely replaced my laptop. Still need the laptop for certain updates and downloads but I can do almost everything with this tablet. You do need to use your laptop for printing unless you have a printer that is iCloud capable, which is a new feature apple has added. I would like to upgrade to a printer that is compatible with iCloud. For the most part....I love my iPad but still think it is a bit pricey! Most apple products are! But I am definitely hooked! I own all apple products and they work very well together. I also like that you can always upgrade to the most current operating systems for free, whenever they become available. Very happy with this product.Read full review
Love the ipad, easy to use and good little email checker, ebay looker and facebook fixer. But doesn't work with facebook games like farmville, etc. because of adobe flash player. I think thats the reason, may be wrong. But it is convenient to use and the screen is great. I probably should have waited on the ipad 2 since the ipad 3 just came out after I got the ipad 1, and I have heard someone selling the ipad 2 for 349. Haven't figured out yet how to move pictures from my computer to the ipad without emailing them to myself. It is not overly fast but not turtle slow either. Haven't used the ipad 2, so unable to judge speed differences between the 3 ipads. From what I've read the ipad 2 is dual core and the ipad 3 is quad core. At least there is no heat whatsoever with the ipad 1. Got the dodo case with it and it is a good little case.Read full review

I was skeptical about how much I would actually use the Ipad. I've had tablet computers before, and really didn't use them like I thought I would. And I was thinking of an android tablet instead. Well, I must say I'm pleasantly surprised with my Ipad. I use it constantly ! It's lightweight, has good battery life, is surprisingly fast and FUN ! I use it in the kitchen for accessing recipes, I watch movies while my husband watches sports, I read digital editions of my magazines & news and much more. There are SO many apps available !!, I even use a VNC app to access my work files when away from the office. The Ipad has a multitude of uses. I'm so glad I chose the Ipad !
