For the price, the floor lamp is great! The lamp shade is made of a frosted plastic and gives off a yellow white glow. There is a thin switch at the base of the shade where you turn on the light. It can be a little difficult to turn.This is not a dimmable light. It needs a specific, yet common, type of 3-way light bulb. The metal pole is thin, yet I have not had any problems with it standing in the corner of my office.

This lamp has got to be the lowest quality piece of junk ever made. I should have known better given the price, but I didn't think that the quality could possibly be this poor. Plastic shade. Unbelievably poor fit and finish. The thing doesn't even stand straight. It actually wobbles. I almost threw it out, but - after spending a half hour messing with it - I got it to the point that it's assembled and standing (albeit precariously). Pass right over this listing when shopping for a new floor lamp. You'll thank me for it.
