I was a little nervous since I have never canned before but this book made it clear and concise and easy. I just canned my second batch of fruit jam and highly recommend this book great for beginners or seasoned canners.

Fantastic canning and preserving book. my mother work out of one of these don't know exactly what year probably 1930's. I bought my first in 1972 and a newer on in 1980. have bought as gifts for daughter and son and this newest purchase was for sister as gift. I not only can but collect jars, and other canning memorabilia Love my double stack 1940' qt. canner. I'm always finding recipes I have not tried in the Ball book but there are many I've committed to memory. This is a great reference book for novices and for us old pro as well a welcome addition to any kitchen library.

I saw this in a store once before I started canning. When I did start canning, I couldn't find it. The issue is full of great recipes and ideas. It's thorough and helps you get a decent understanding for everything involved with canning food of all types. I highly recommend this book for anyone interested in canning and even those of you that want some great ideas once you have a good handle on the subject.

Better than I expected. Book is in full color, chucked full of useful information and recipes. If you plan to water bath and/or pressure can, you will enjoy this book.

We have two Ball books (the older blue ones that are probably now vintage). We love the new one with all it's instructions and wonderful recipes. It will certainly be well used as we have a very large garden and do a ton of canning.

I haven't bought the Ball Blue Book for quite a few years, & I decided it was time for a new copy. I was pleased & surprised by all the great recipes & ideas in this newest edition. Not only does it have the expected "how long to process" info, but there are lots of new info in this edition on pressure canning and recipes to get your imagination going. I am VERY pleased with this edition.

I'm new to canning and processing. I have my grandma's 1935 and my mom's 1966 Ball Blue Books, but am told canning standards have changed and just "because that's the way Grandma always did it" may not be the safest method anymore. Looking for the most current Ball Blue Book for Canning but appears what Ball offers now is called "Preserving" and is more than just canning. Wanted a canning reference that included updated canning basics. Book has some basics, lots of recipes I'll never use, and pictures that are nice, but for me, unnecessary. Still though, glad I got it to have basics of the process to refer to when needed.

I was a bit disappointed that it was “new” but appeared to be more of “very good” condition. My daughter loves it and that’s what matters. I would buy again.

I especially liked all the new recipes like using wine for jellies. A little smaller page but thicker book and more information, I think. An improvement on an already great product.
