The Kimber Pads are a must when you have added an extended mag well for faster re-loads. I had a couple of Kimber .45 mags and rather than get rid of them I installed the base pads. They work fine but I would have preferred a softer plastic material. Over all I still like my Wilson's a lot better but at least the Kimber mags can be put to use now. These pads are designed for the cheap welded bottom mag design.

These pads overhang the standard front lip on the base of a steel 1911 magazine by quite a bit. They create a sharp lip that gets annoying quickly. The oversized edge is 1/16” past the steel, sharp and irritates the small finger inside of just a few rounds. The mags I tried are Checkmate, Ed Brown, Colt and Dan Wesson brands. I’ll be going back to my old brand of base pads from Midway. Yes, I’ll grind that leading edge back but still...why should anyone have to? For around $10 it’s a lesson learned.

These are great pads for your 1911 magazines. Since standard mags don't have a wider plastic base like most magazines, these pads really set it off and make removing and handling easier. Well worth it. Initially I was reluctant to buy them but went ahead and did so. After installation I am glad I did. Installation is very easy and you can download directions directly from the Kimber site that I recommend following. Using a drop of oil on the threads and cutting then backing out after every turn does make it easier. Installation on Kimber mags is easy and I had one other that had already been drilled so I didn't have to. Buy these Kimber mag pads and enjoy a very practical feature with a much different look.

The improvement to my magazines were immediate. It makes loading so much easier and more positive. I would highly recommend these.

this product does what is expected of it. It fits fine on non Kimber magazines which is a plus for it. Priced a little higher than I think a few pieces of plastic should be but I guess they need to make a decent profit on them. I am very happy with them.

Well made, direct fit on the Kimber magazines, easy to install and are more than adequate to protect the magazine base. Also helps when loading a mag in a gun with a magwell, the extra length adds to positively seating the magazine.

I bought this pads for my Kimber custom ll 9mm. They went on clean and easy, how ever I have one clip I bought about 18 years ago, the holes lined up ok but the screws would not start, I try to tap them out later. This my second set I have used. I have had no problems with the ones I put on my Kimber clips for for my Kimber custom 45 about 10 years ago. I would recommend this product.
