Doing amateur video productions, years ago I purchased several of the Everios, and let a salesman convince me to buy the final camera as a Sony. Recognize I am a diehard Sony fan. But the Everio wins. Buying an extended life battery, you'd be surprised how long you can keep filming. The video quality is great. MOD is an unusual file format and with some movie making software is an issue. But I've also found that if I simply tell it to play the file anyway, it usually does. The Everio does not require a docking station and this has been most convenient. Simply take the power cord and the camera as a bare minimum, and you're good to go. My work has been hard on the cameras and they do get dropped. I've broken a few. But five years later, three of the six still work, and all have given me my money’s worth.Read full review
Nice little camera that I can trasfer the video to DVD, store it or send it by email. The only drawback thyat I found was the battery life. Only one hour when the camera can run for up to four. Buying a secong GOOD baterry can kind of solve the problem. In general I love the camera because the quality of picture and the portability. small to fit anywhere.

My daughter has the GZ-MG27 and found it to be an excellent camera. This camera has slightly less zoom but otherwise pretty much the same. Very compact. A larger battery can be found on Ebay at very low price.
Thank you will definitely recommend to other shoppers
