Anything Nintendo in my opinion is worthy of owning. Quality. Design, durability and endless entertainment. I still own the first console. The gamecube has become my favorite and wavebird wireless my choice for controllers. The first ones still work perfectly and have had them since the gamecube came out. These were no disappointment. Recommended.

It works but it arrived in a pretty grimy condition. It will definitely need to be cleaned and sanitized before use. Given the state of things these days one can't be too careful. :( satisfied that it still works. Will need to have my partner disassemble and possibly retro-bright the shell to get it back to like-new appearance. All in all.. not a bad purchase.

I really do suggest these types of controllers, for several reasons. I have rhumatoid arthritus(and a few other health issues),my hands/knuckles especially. using the 'normal' gamecube controllers, after 1 hour of use, hurts my hands/knuckles.As well a pitting edema issues.I feel like I have been holding on for dear life to jump rope handles! I'd cramp up something awful. These types of controllers, after 4 hours of non stop use,my hands only ache lightly.I am having so much fun playing, and able to concentrate on my games much better-a great relief for sure! These are a bit larger than the normal controller.and they are LIGHT in weight! it's like you don't have a controller in your hands. To use them it's very simple-just plug the reciever in the gamecube or Wii system-place 2 double AA batteries(I prefer to use energizer -they seem to last longer)-turn on the controller to activate the reciever-then each has it's own small dial, you turn 1 notch at a time until the controller responds to reciever.now-I did learn something, when I 1st turned them on,I had my game system in front of my bed,on a stand.I moved it to be in front of tv,away from my bed--I had to readjust the controller.so,to save your self a few minutes, place game system where you want it,then turn on and activate them ;) they work on radio frequency-not the red light infared. The button features are same as normal controller, just a bit more space width wise.the handles are a bit shorter-which is a feature I love. You do not feel like your holding jump rope hadnles.the extra width gives your hands a more natural feeling while holding these.I own 2 of these, and they can be used at the same time--as I said they work on radio frequency, and each has it's own settings.they DO not interfer with each other at all.No delay play/moves in game play mode.....I bless the day these were suggested to me! now I can play hours-and I do mean hours, and not cry,nor get frustrated at throbbing of pains in my hands!Freedom to enjoy 100% YOU will notice the better quality/features instantly! These are a great investment all the way around.I thought they 'd be heavier because of the size difference and was worried about it-needlessly worried I learned-THESE are light! I had installed 2AA batteries,I play on average about 5-14 hours a day(depending if I am having a good day or bad day-I am disabled with many health issues)that was about 2 weeks ago-I have not turned off the controller to save on batteries. I want to see how long they last on batteries. You'll REALLY will enjoy these, light weight and fast responding time for game movements! :) :)Read full review

Love the Wavebird. Bought one initially close to 5 years ago and it's still going with no problems. Recently decided to pick up a second one but no luck finding one at Gamestop. The exact words of the store clerk were "That is the best wireless controller ever made. We never see those come through here used." So, ended up on eBay and got one for a great price, new they run about 29.99, I believe. As a side note, these are one of the few wireless controllers that have an on/off switch to conserve batteries and the only one I've ever seen with channels to switch between to find the best connection without interference from other controllers. You will not be disappointed with this item!
As sad as it sounds, I was to the point that I would not play my old, beloved GameCube games nor VC title because I hated getting out the corded GameCube controllers and extension so much. These WaveBird controllers work as well, and maybe even better, than the original, wired GameCube controlllers. I finally have the ability to play my favorite GameCube games and VC title with the same wireless freedom that my Wii title offer me. Why Nintendo no longer offers these for sale is a complete mystery. If you are lucky enough to fond someone offering these controllers new in the package, you willl likely have to pay upwards of $100 per controller. If you can find them under $25 a piece used, then you've found a good deal. Do not waste your time with the cheap knock off brand wireless gamecube controllers...they will only cause you pain. The WaveBirds are the real deal.Read full review
