This is a game along the lines of Tecmo Super Bowl that is so greatly made that it holds up even as technology passes it by. It is a turn based strategy game involving worms, kind of a derivative of the computer classic "Scorched Earth". Except in this game there are multiple terrains, weapons, and variables to keep the game from getting boring. Me and my friends play in fort/tanks mode. You set up your teams to all have the same terrain so that no one has an advantage. Then you put tanks mode on (which basically makes the worms immobile) which turns the game into a shooting contest. The mission section of the game is 1 player and is somewhat entertaining but after you play heads up with up to 3 other people for bragging rights you won't want to play it again. This game is super scarce, you won't find it in your local mall unless there's a great preplayed games store. If you find a copy pick it up and learn with a friend. It's no fun to learn with someone who's mastered the game and beats you down every time.Read full review
I've always loved the Worms story line. My aunt had this game on sega several years ago and I really enjoyed. Thinking that since that time and the evolution of the Playstations that this game would truely run the Sega verison in the ground. Um, no. That didn't happen at all. The graphics were the same as the Sega which would have been ok had the rest of it been a little better. The words and any typing was so small and had that 80's Comador 64 Computer look to them. I was hard to play the game because you couldn't read any of the typing on it. I would def. save your money and try out Worms 3-D, Worms World Party or Worms Forts Under Seige. I had purchased the game for a PS2 even though I knew it was for a PS1. You can open a game but cannot save it to a PS2 memory card. I had to send another 7 bucks for a PS1 memory card which was extremely hard to find and didn't even work when I got it. This was a waste of a few bucks.Read full review
This is hands down my favorite worms game in the genre. I love the PC version too but for just hanging out with your buddies, this PSone WWP version cannot be beat. I have Armageddon and have to say that World Party is Way Better. This version allows you to put on SUPER NINJA ROPE and make it unlimited... The Ninja rope is essential to the joy of game play. The previous worms didn't allow it to be unlimited. ALL of the Weapons that are in WWP should be in every version of worms, the sally Army rules! The old lady? Love this game! I tried other worms, even on the PS3 and still love this one way more! This is the BEST WORMS GAME out there! I even re-bought this game after giving up looking for it. It's a must have period! This is almost the best game on the planet with the exception of Chess.Read full review
I really enjoyed this game (pc version). I want to share those feels to my brothers and play it in ps1 with them. Thanks for the oportunity.
Verified purchase: Yes | Condition: Pre-owned
This addition to the worms series is amazing. Bright and vibrant colors, amusing sound effects, great gameplay, and an arsenal of weapons to kill your buddy's worms with. As always you can customize your teams from worm names to tombstones. You can also generate hundreds of levels. Gameplay- 5 Sound- 5 Graphics- 5 Controls- 5
I like it because it is better than armageddon for n64 it has more options and better graphics. the only thing that i dont like about it is that you cant customize the wepons so that you have unlimited in multiplayer mode.
