Alexa is Awesome!
I absolutely love my Echo Show. I'm just beginning to learn all the cool things I can do with it. I keep it in the kitchen so I can ask Alexa to display recipes. I use it to make a grocery list & have it connected to my phone so I can pull up the list in the app anywhere I go. It displays accurate weather. And I can view my ring doorbell. It makes my life easier, funner & more informed. I highly recommend the Echo Show!

Nice idea but not ready for prime time
We have 6 echo dots and absolutely love them so had high hopes for the Show 5. Unfortunately we were disappointed. Speaker is cheap and It’s poor quality makes it hard to hear at medium volumes but worse, often unintelligible when turned up to compensate. Microphones are really bad at hearing on first pass. With very few exceptions you have to repeat your request before the show will listen to it and then misinterprets the request roughly half the time. The screen is nice and helpful for some functions and skills once you get them going in the right direction. Recipes, weather, Music with words, news headlines make up for the poor reliability a bit but still not. Overpriced at list price due to functional reliability issues which marginalize it’s intended value / price point. It should be priced more comparable to Echo Dot which delivers solid performance until improvements can be made to the Show. Read full review

Useful and fun to play with
It was easy to setup; actually easier than the Ech dot I also own. The display and the sound quality are good. Most of the time it understands me correectly, though some of its mistakes are amusing. It sometimes displays or says annoying messages but that is somewhat controllable with the Alexa app.

Echo show5 for home security
I’ve linked the Echo show5 to my ring home security system and can see who’s at my front door or around my property at any time; I am also able to control my security cameras and flood lights with voice commands. The unit is just the right size, not too small, not too big and it fits perfectly beside my bed on a nightstand table. It gives me peace of mind at night to view the different zones surrounding my home at a moments notice. The picture quality is impressive for such a small screen. Volume, power, and mic controls are found at the top of the unit, which is simplistic and easily accessible. The unit measures 5.75x3x3.5.
