Be very careful threading the gauge into the housing, don't use teflon tape as the instructions say, you will crack the housing and it will leak. Use paste pipe sealant instead and hand tighten it to snug. Pentair should make the threaded boss thicker or put a brass insert in so vibration doesn't cause another crack, which is the only reason it ever has to be replaced. Gauge is kind of cheaply made but works. I replaced the prior one with a quality gauge when it started sticking.

This item is exactly what I needed to replace the relief valve on top of my filter housing. You do not even need to remove the top of the housing to swap it out. Just unscrew the old unit and install this one. Very easy, just make sure your pump is off and relieve any pressure first. :-)
