Decent sound, fair price
I like it, sounds pretty good, as good as I'd expect, though I have no "high end" item I can compare it to. I like the fact that the subwoofer and attached rear satellite speakers don't need wires to the base bar unit, though the satellites are hard wired to the subwoofer. The cables that come with it to wire from the subwoofer to each satellite are quite long, so I easily connected from the bass box on one side of my sofa to the satellite at the other end, with wire to spare. The setup was quite easy, the subwoofer paired with no intervention on my part to the base. Comes with various connecting cables, I used the optical one to get sound from the TV. I'd have given 5 stars, except the setup of the Android app was quirky. I did get it to pair, after trying about 5 or 6 times, and I still don't know what actually made it work. Pairing from my phone to the base unit using "vanilla" Bluetooth was straightforward - read the manual as you have to push a button on the base at one point. Though this was a refurb, I don't see any evidence of prior use - other than maybe the generic brown box. Seems as good as new to me, at probably half the cost.Read full review

The Chromecast isn't great. Works weird, not like regular Chromecast. And the Vizio app really is counter intuitive. I have a vizio TV too and have had issues with it not remembering the soundbar. The sound is good, the price is OK, the controls are bad.

Worth the money !
This Vizio 5.1 soundbar comes with the soundbar an a wireless subwoofer and two satellite speakers. It is a nice system. It is easy to hook up if you take time to follow the directions. I hook mine up to a 55" 4K UHD TV an it sounds fantastic ! . It comes with all the wiring an with a remote . It can make a livingroom sound like a theater . It also has a chromecast built in and you can control it with Vizio Smartcast app for your phone or tablet . I had a Vizio 2.1 soundbar with a wireless subwoofer 10 years ago and it was great too ! That why I decided on the 5.1 Vizio soundbar system. It is worth the money. The sound is great , and I checked around on other brands but kept coming back to this one. I'm happy with my purchase.

Needed Sound Bar for busted TV Speaker
Great sound bar. Had to have something to replace broken speakers in TV. Ordered this set and it sounds Great. Unpacked and was set up in 15 minutes. All cords included. Plugged into ARC output on TV and 110Vac power and it was done. When it powered on it immediately tied into bluetooth remote speakers. It obviously is not a $1000 speaker system but works great for our TV and has quality sound. Would buy again.

Not too bad at all! It's important to use the MOVIE setting if you want the best effect...DIRECT doesn't seem to be the same but, it sounds great. Very easy to set-up ...it practically did it by itself. Would recommend for small to medium size room...surround with some BOOM!

Great bang for my buck
I'm sure there are some better devices out there by other brands as well as by Vizio, but since I've bought this model before and I knew it performed, I didn't want to chance it. It has a good bass (of course, it's not like having a separate sub and AVR) and some controls regarding the treble, highs, etc. I actually have a couple of Onkyo receivers and several subs but because I moved to a smaller house, I didn't want/need all of that for my office. Just wanted something that was a big improvement over stock TV speakers. This fits the bill. Can't go wrong with this model.

Good unit for the refurbished price and everything works
The sound is great and sounds good even though it is refurbished. I think I know its capabilities, once I downloaded the manual from the Visio site. Speaker placement is important because I don't think you can set the volume on each speaker. If someone knows how to do that, please let me know. The Bluetooth worked with no problems. I'm connection with the optical cable to a Visio TV. I was surprised that with the TV remote I have to turn on the speakers separately by hitting the volume up. This is aggravating because my old Bose 2.1 automatically detected the signal and turned itself on. It automatically turn itself off with a timer.

I'm enjoying the SmartCast SoundBar System immensely. I"m especially pleased by the way it integrates with my Vizio Monitor, and the Vizio Android app for control. The 'night setting' that brings the spoken dialog to the forefront is particularly helpful when others are sleeping. The packaging was perfect. If I hadn't been told it was a refurbished item, I would have thought it brand new.
