I have a 2.5 y/o Labradoodle and a 1 y/o Labrador that have taken to wandering. They were not coming back when called and I was afraid that they were going to get hit by a car. This product worked excellent for keeping them on my property. They were both familiar with shock collar training from a trainer when they were puppies and they took to this without much training on my part. I didn't put out the flags or any of that. They hit the barrier, heard the tone, kept going and got a shock. I set my doodle at level 4 and my lab at level 5 (she's the instigator). After the first shock, she returned to the yard and I pet her and told her she was a good girl. She made a second pass toward the street, heard the tone and stopped. Neither dog has gotten a second shock. My dogs took to this faster than most, because they have prior training with a correction collar. However, if you follow the training schedule provided with the system, it makes it pretty easy for any dog to learn.Read full review

Everything works great but I can’t keep it on high ( which is farther for dog to wonder) because it makes a humming noise and it gets hot, so I switch it to low when she’s inside. But it works great she stops at the beep.

We have used this product for several years to keep out pugs in the yard. Our dogs are happy & safe. They learned very quickly. We purchased an additional unit for our son to use with his dog and she learned the limits in less than a day. Now we know she is safe. One of our pugs and my son's dog will chase cars if not for this control. The audible tone is all they need to hear to come to a stop. One caution: Do not put your dog in a vehicle while wearing the collar as it will trigger even well within the range of the transmitter.

Took ten minuets to set this up, I got lucky when I set the distance got it the first time but it takes only a minuet change it. Takes a while to flag it but no different than the buried system and not near the work I know I put one in years ago. Can't compare this to other wireless units because I never had any, just know I like this one.

I bought mine at a very good price since I had read the reviews. My boxer is high energy, my house is inground, yard is sloped, and part of area includes the driveway. Wasn't sure it would work for me. Also make sure set to high if your yard is bigger. I was disappointed with the area until I realized it was on low. Had to redo the flags. You will look like the hunchback of Notre Dame while putting the flags in. You hold the collar at the dogs neck height while listening for where it beeps then set flag. Very quiet beep. DO THE TRAINING! Start on low to just beep, dog on leash or long rope, go towards flag, boundary does fluctuate somewhat, listen for beep, when beeps head to house or where have main unit. Treat, praise, play. repeat. It's working! I'm still and mostly will be outside with my dog when this is used since I have a small potty area fenced. He still is oopsing and making the collar beep but heads for the house. Held it in my hand for 2 and 3. 2 I had to stand still to feel, 3 was maybe annoying. I now have it set on 4 which is plenty for him and may go down once he is fully trained. I unplug and take the collar off when in the house since I had read about the electric bill . My dog is enjoying his yard with out me yelling at him to come back from greeting neighbors, their dogs, or just adding my neighbors yards his own idea of his territory.Read full review

I have used PetSafe now for over 8 years. Keeps my dogs in the yard while they roam freely. Do not need to worry about them wandering away. Great product.
