A lifesaver!
My husband has an ileostomy. Because he Is now on blood thinners, his physician prescribed silver nitrate sticks to stop occasional bleeding on his stoma - just as he did in his office. Wet the end of the stick, use a gauze pad to absorb the blood, then touch to the area that was bleeding. This will cauterize the spot and last a couple of days before needing any further treatment to the area and help it to heal. We checked all the local medical suppliers as well as pharmacies - no luck. Everyone knew what we were looking for, but no one had it. This has been a lifesaver. Directions are on the package. I understand that these can also be used for sores that resist healing as well as skin tags and warts.

Not recommended for at home use. Not for amateur use.
I bought these to put in my medical kit for just in case use. I am an experienced RN and these are the exact Nitro sticks that we used in the clinic years ago, and are used today for some applications. Thank you.

Great deal and great cure for mouth ulcers.
If you are like me and get mouth ulcers almost every other week, this is the cure. I looked far and wide and tried everything i could to make them stop to no success. Until i went to the dentist and he put something on them and it hurt and the next day they were gone. After some research, It was these. You wet the tip and it creates a white layer of nitrate. You place it on the ulcer and it hurts but its sooooo worth it. After about 5-8 seconds you remove it and rinse the ulcer thoroughly. Immediate pain relief and if you did it right it will start healing the next day. I have found that if you dont do it long enough it wont burn all the infection and it will continue, so dont be too afraid to get it in their. Be careful however, this is a medical grade dangerous cauterizing chemical. Dispose of safely and make sure you thoroughly rinse after at most 10 seconds!Read full review
