simple to hook up!
I use this on a 86 pound thrust trolling motor. Have had ...no problems with it at all. Hooks up easy handles the load very well. I will add that if you are using your motor at full thrust you should hook you motor right up to the battery. This is not a super powerfull unit so trying to go full speed could damage the unit. And you really don't use speed control at full speed anyway. The battery lasts at least several times longer than if you didn't use this. Alot cheaper than buying a motor with maximiser built in. Try one the price is right!

Unconventional use
Found this dimmer to work perfectly as a D.C. water pump ...flow controller. By using pwm control with my small gold prospecting water pumps I’m able to control water flow through the equipment without using a lot of current to do so. I’m able to use my small 11.1v 3s lipo batteries to power the system for hours on end without the need for much larger and heavier automotive batteries. After burning up a few of the cheaper less wattage led dimmers and finding that it was being caused by the back emf of the dc pumps I was using, I redesigned those dimmers so the emf would not damage them any longer. This dimmer is built like a brick house and already has the extra protection needed to drive my pumps. The potentiometer used to vary the dc output was selected correctly as a logarithmic taper and gives you vary precise control over output voltages. Nice product.
