Yamaha receivers have a reputation for sounding good. I owned a Yamaha RX-V6663, and I was pleased with its sound. I am even more pleased with the sound of my RX-A1000. The receiver has a crisp, clear, clean, detailed sound. Setup was easy, and I really liked being able to use multiple mic positions for the sound equalization setup. If you love to tweak your receiver, which I do, the RX-A1000 is a tweaker's dream. It is possible to customize so many settings!! Esthetically speaking, the receiver is beautiful. The black color and styling makes the receiver look very sleek and downright cool. I really like having a USB port on the front of the receiver. It has more than enough HDMI inputs, 7 on the back and 1 on the front. Although the are a lot of inputs and outputs the layout of the back panel is simple and logical. And, the receiver does not run hot. The RX-A1000 is a great value at $1100. What's even better is that since there are three newer models of this receiver available, you can probably find an RX-A1000 for much less than the retail price. I have no complaints whatsoever about my RX-A1000.Read full review
The sound is crisp and clean. My first "higher end" receiver. I bought this model because a friend of mine who works at a high end retailer thought it would be a great step up from my old RXV557 and boy was he right. If your thinking about this RXA1000 just do it, you will not be unhappy. It will however take you some time to fully figure it out. The on-screen display is great and I have it hooked to the internet and love the music options avalable. My wife and I enjoy listening to old artist's we grew up with and is right at your fingertips, anything you can imagine. I will say the tuner is very weak as I have trouble getting radio stations my old one pulled in with just the small wire it comes with but found I do not miss it much. Yamaha seems to be the favorite digital processing of many people as well as mine. Does a great job. Since I have upgraded my speakers now as well I wonder if I should of spent a couple hundred more to get some more power, I had no idea what I was missing before and can only imagine what the 2000 and 3000 models would do. Just give yourself time and get to know it, its very high tech, compared to what I had anyway. My only regret is thinking maybe I should have saved a little longer and got the 2000 but I am very happy with my 1000 and can always add another amp later.Read full review
Not cheap, but delivers the goods. 8 AV channels + 4 audio channels, assigned in slices, so read the manual first. Internet radio, DLNA and remote control (by web browser) make life easier (for my S.O.). Minor cons: Hard to browse MP3s etc. with DLNA on web interface. Remote could work better as a universal remote (may be poor docs) iMedaShare App on tablet doesn't work as expected Takes firmware updates, so issues may be fixed later.
Amazing Receiver! The Setup was easy and ability to automatically recognize correct format is outstanding and accurate. The network attached firmware upgrade is the way to go. As a network music player, it has help bring all the sources of music throughout my home to where I can use it the most. Never going back.
Thanks this very nice
