I kitbash the diaphragms on all my passenger cars, using the bellows from this set and the striker plate from the IHC diaphragms (after trimming them). My layout has 30" radius curves, and they stay closed on the curves with very little, if any, separation. They do not derail the cars except maybe during long shoving moves through "S" curves. All in all, they're well worth it! (too bad Walthers has discontinued them)

Attaching the diaphragm was a challenge. After attaching them they didn't stay flush on turns. There would be a gap on each turn, but I love how they make my Budds look.
