In the 15 years that Freewheel has been in Madison, we've given away more than 12,000 bikes to those in need. We've taught over 6,000 students the skills needed to maintain their own transportation. We've diverted many tons of bikes and bike parts away from the landfill and onto the road. We share our shop during open shop days. Each of our instructors learned from a past volunteer. We follow the "each-one-teach-one" method and share our skills, experience, and resources with our community
